Zaryadye Park. Tourist Information Center

Goal

To create unique video content about the main sights and the most interesting events in Moscow; to develop an application helping tourists to study the objects and plan their routes on their own.

The Tourist Information Centre is located in the Dome pavilion in the very center of Moscow by the Kremlin, between Vasilyevsky Spusk and Moskvoretskaya Embankment. This is the starting point for many tourist routes and locals walks. The center is equipped with a synchronized multimedia system which provides integral perception of information. The pavilion exterior serves as an LED multimedia facade, presenting thematic shows 24/7. The interior of the center hall dome is made of lightboxes with QR codes. It reproduces the Russian i-city pavilion that won a special prize at the XIII Architecture Biennale in Venice in 2012.

The serving information desk is located under the central hall dome. There is a radial LED screen around it and another one right above it. We shot and edited 33 videos with a total duration of over 50 minutes – the best views, iconic landmarks and out-of-the-box tips on how to spend time in the capital.

By pointing a smartphone camera to the rows of QR codes on the inner walls of the central hall tourists can learn about all the most significant and interesting events taking place in the city. The application is integrated with RussPass and DiscoverMoscow portals, thus the data is updated in real time. There are 24 lightboxes, 19 monitors and 8 touch screens installed in the outer gallery, which are united by information graphics with the total area of about 50 m2. Visitors can independently find information about the attractions and activities in Moscow, which are grouped into 8 thematic blocks, as well as to plan the most convenient routes. Theaters and museums, parks and estates, festivals and gastronomy centers, sports and children’s events – all gathered in one convenient application. The updatable database includes more than 400 objects and all the content is multilingual and can be edited on the fly by the use of the content management system, specially developed for the purpose.
